Jennifer Ochstein
Faculty Advisor
I cherish the opportunity to work with The Crossings because I love to see students deepen their wonder of literary arts. As we consider the work of other artists on campus, our empathetic impulses are pricked, I think, helping us see each other in the ways God does, with compassion and grace.
Jennifer Ochstein earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Ashland University in 2012. She’s published essays with Sojourners, Under the Gum Tree, America Magazine, The Cresset, Connotation Press, The Lindenwood Review, Evening Street Review, Hippocampus Magazine and more. She's also published book reviews with Brevity and River Teeth. She’s currently at work on a book of essays about the solace of walking. However, she doesn't just write and walk. She's been teaching in the Literature & Language Department at Bethel University since 2008 and has been the faculty adviser for The Crossings since 2013.
